Jossi de la Torre

SANFORD,FL -- February 24th - 25th, Perfect Game Youth Florida hosted the Winter Classic for 11u, 13u, and 14u teams. PGYFL reporting was able to gain some insight on how the season is unfolding for the players and teams. Also, these selected PGYFL players gave us their thoughts on which MLB players and teams they'll be keeping a close eye on for this upcoming 2018 season.

11u, OC Snipers, Carlier Delgado, Justin Negron, and Ismael Rivera, expressed their opinions as to how they could improve their performance for the remainder of the 2018 Winter season.

Collectively, the OC Snipers felt very confident about their hitting and positive attitude throughout the Winter Classic, but realized that they needed to improve with their pitching.

Delgado, Negron, and Rivera all hope to make it to the major leagues because of the perseverance and dedication that it showcased in players from the Red Sox and New York Yankees.

13u, Florida Throwbacks, Carson Thomas, Matthew Farner, Cooper Drury, and Breydan Calapa agree that as a team, they plan on working on increasing their energy during morning games to improve their communication.

14u, TNXL Ducks, Nicholas Roman and Phillip Lafernaye, stated that this was the first tournament back from their winter break. Roman and Lafernaye both seek to improve their swing and look forward to "getting back into the groove" for the rest of the season.

Overall, OC Snipers, Florida Throwbacks, and TNXL Ducks agreed that the New York Yankees are going to be the team to keep a close eye on. The players are extremely hopefully that the New York Yankees will take it all in the upcoming 2018 MLB season.
